The clinic performs conservative treatments, consisting of the state of the art chiropractic methods. Our typical three point care involves:
2)Passive self-corrective positioning on a special table and may include modalities such as heat/ice, myofascial-release or low level laser,
3)Spinal corrective procedure (chiropractic adjustment). Gentle non-manipulative adjustments can also be performed along with spinal decompression techniques.
We use a wide variety of chiropractic techniques that have stood the test of time such as Sacro-occipital technique which is akin to the popular cranio-sacral therapy used by many therapists today. Disc and spinal stenosis is treated using the COX technique having been trained by Doctor Cox himself in the 1980's. Infact Doctor Ranchod received praise from a well known orthopedic surgeon for his management of spinal stenosis and disc problems after he did several rounds with him in his clinic. While most treatment methods prescribed by the clinic have a solid scientific validity, referral for unconventional approaches that are deemed safe, may be recommended if they are likely to provide relief. That is why the cooperation of various professionals is important in avoiding the conflict normally encountered when a variety of approaches both conventional and unconventional is utilized Our rehabilitation program consists of realistic and practical ways the patient can find relief from the causes and effects of back pain.
Patients are often referred to physical and massage therapists, neuro or orthopedic-surgeons , acupuncture, and any other forms of care if deemed necessary.
Because there are so many contributing factors to most back problems, the clinic is careful to consider diet and stress related factors. Some back problems may in part be the result of excessive weight, poor diet, improper work environment or simple lack of exercises. Which is why we are proponents of meditation, yoga, pilates and strenghthening.
If everyone practiced prevention, there would be little need for treatment and rehabilitation of back problems. Unfortunately prevention usually comes only after the patient experiences the problem, but it's never to late to correct dietary, job related, or environmental habits which may lead to more serious problems in the future.
Dr Ranchod goes out of his way to design special home programs tailored to the patients needs, thus empowering the patient to manage their conditions at home and become independant of constant care.
We conduct free spinal-posture screenings along with 3D laser foot scans to assess potential problems which can easily be addressed with specific exercises or corrective foot orthotics.
We are also available for group- corporate lectures on wellness and ergonomic work environment. Infact we have a letter from Bristol-Meyers Squibb amongst others thanking us for our effective presentation.
